As a result of our continuing growth, we now have an immediate requirement for a Field Service Engineer, to join our business in Spain - Bilbao, on a permanent basis. As a Field Service Engineer you will perform direct service activities on Hologic DIAGNOSTICS products in the field. The role will provide a high level of service to customers on the installation, repair, service, maintenance, or enhancement of hardware and/or software products.

Your Main Duties& Responsibilities:

The Field Service Engineer duties listed below require approximately 80% travel within the designated region and 20% outside the designated region:

  • Installinstruments at customer sites

  • Provideinstrument and sample preparation training to customers

  • Provideemergency service and repairs and Preventative Maintenance as requested bycustomers

  • Planningof laboratory design for new instrument installations

  • Liaisingwith customer IT departments and assisting with information systemsinstallations and troubleshooting

  • Maintenanceand accuracy of assigned inventory

  • Supportingmarketing activities such as exhibitions

  • Specialassignments and administrative duties as directed by Field Service Manager ordesignate

  • Communicateand document customer feedback to Field Service Manager and/or appropriatedepartments

  • Promoteservice agreements to customers

  • Performother assigned duties as required

  • Routinelycomplete administrative paperwork, such as but not limited to: Time Reports,Expense Reports, Equipment Site Assessments, Inventory Reports, InternalLaboratory Reports, Equipment Checklists, RGA Forms, and Field Service Reports

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Technical proficiency servicing instruments in the field, and a general knowledge of corporate related processes and disciplines

  • Ability to troubleshoot complex electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems

  • Strong interpersonal and customer satisfaction skills

  • Similar/comparable customer based laboratory environment

  • Effective Time Management Skills

  • Professional and effective internal and external communication skills

  • Ability to accurately diagnose issues as described over the phone by Field Service Engineers/customers

  • Proficient use of Microsoft products (Word, Excel, Outlook)

  • Working knowledge of various troubleshooting/analysis tools (Macros, Data Acquisition, etc.)

  • Proficient use of diagnostic instrumentation and equipment such as DVMs, Oscilloscopes, Micrometers, etc
