The Director, Program Management is responsible for leading new product introductions and key sustaining project activity within the Connected Services franchise (part of Hologic’s Breast and Skeletal Health Division). This is a highly visible role within the organization requiring strong leadership and influencing skills across a broad spectrum of global stakeholders.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • In partnership with franchiseleadership, develop portfolio of projects and a roadmap which delivers againstfranchise priorities. Perform portfolio and resource analysis to driveefficiency and reliability in delivering the suite of initiatives in the pipeline.

  • Lead assigned projects through the phasegate and sustaining processes, establish project objectives and work plansincluding scope, timing, business case, and resource requirements.Delegate assignments to functional area team members and track key projectactivities to successful completion.

  • Ensure cross-functional teamcollaboration to optimize team strengths, while delivering commercializedproducts that are clear market leaders. Ensure customer-focused designneeds are at the center of decision-making process. This position is notfocused solely on R&D but the end-to-end delivery into global markets withcommercial excellence.

  • Meet budgetary objectives and makeadjustments to project constraints based on financial analysis.

  • Provide regular reports on projectstatus to leadership.

  • Track risk and drive timelysolutions to issues that arise.

  • Drive for project success whileensuring consistency and alignment across all product development projects.Recommend best practices and implement process improvements in consultationwith PMO and other functions as appropriate.

  • In partnership with R&D andQuality, ensure all design control requirements are met in accordance withglobal regulatory bodies.

  • Assign and monitor work of programmanagement staff, providing technical support and direction.

  • Provide training to all employeesinvolved in the innovation phase gate process.

Qualifications:

  • Experienced and self motivated leaderwell-versed in managing within a matrixed organization and navigating complex reportingrelationships.

  • Inspiring,open-minded and ‘can-do’ attitude which encourages innovation and embraceschange.

  • Createan environment that encourages and rewards teamwork, collaboration andencourages employee engagement.

  • A proven track record of successfullyimplementing software development projects using Agile methodologies includingmanagement of large, complex projects in a medical device, life science orhealthcare industry.

  • Solid understanding ofsoftware development life cycle modelsaswell as expert knowledge of both Agile and traditional project managementprinciples and practices and the ability to blend them together in the rightproportions to fit a project and business environment.

  • Experience increating dashboards and statistical models.

  • Significant experience leadingcross-functional new product teams with proven track record of independently,passionately, and effectively driving projects from concept to market.

  • Demonstratedsuccess in cross-functional project/program management, achieving product,solution, and organizational objectives.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage bothinternal and external development activities.

  • Advanced knowledge in ProjectManagement/Leadership and Product Development.

  • Advanced knowledge of Design Control procedures in Medical Device environment.

  • Experienced in business case development and portfolio management.Role requires experience in project selection process,not just the execution of what’s been handed off.

  • Proven ability to take the complexand simplify, to distill deep detail into effective and relevant communicationto stakeholders across the organization, ranging from individual team membersC-suite leaders.

  • Ability to develop and followprocesses with rigor while driving pragmatic and creative solutions to achieveproject success.

  • Solid working knowledge of MS Suiteof products including MS Project. Experience in PPM software a plus.

  • Experience with ISO and FDA quality systems regulations and medical design and development cycles.

Education:

  • BS/BA Degree required

  • MS, M.B.A or equivalent degreepreferred

  • PMP Certification desirable

Experience:

  • 10+ years ofexperience in Project / Program Management leading development programsthat successful products which exceed customer and commercial expectations

  • Experience leading large cross functional global projects

  • Experience in leading bothtechnical and commercial deliverables

  • Experience leading otherproject managers

  • Experience in medical deviceindustry preferred
