Reporting to the Senior Director, Health Policy and Reimbursement this role has primary responsibility for developing reimbursement strategies that support the Diagnostic Solutions brand and maximize the value proposition for the Hologic product portfolio within the payer market. Key attributes of this position will be to favorably differentiate the organization and Diagnostic brand within the health insurance industry and support health economic study development pertaining to value-based pricing within the payer market. This position will closely align with and directly support our health policy, reimbursement and payer marketing efforts including external field-based teams in both health economics and sales where tools are needed to convey our product messaging within the payer customer segment.

This individual will require excellent project management skills, expertise working with complex teams, leadership skills, broad strategic thinking and the ability to carry out multiple tasks in parallel. Competitive candidates will possess relevant experience in health policy, reimbursement, managed care marketing or otherwise similar field involving complex technical expertise. Familiarity with women’s health or other clinical disease states helpful, along the ability to lead teams and manage large cross functional projects.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead collaborative development of organizational short- and long-term market access strategies to support accelerated reimbursement though identification of key tactical and strategic elements

  • Build a continuing inventory of commercial insights specific to government and private payers, health benefit professionals and national employers

  • Work collaboratively with Marketing to ensure appropriate considerations (i.e. coding, coverage, reimbursement, market access, life cycle implications) for patient access to Hologic Diagnostic products are communicated and incorporated into the go-to-market plan

  • Build a strategy and supporting tools for post-product coverage programs and pull-through efforts, create and maintain product reimbursement strategic plans for use by marketing and payer teams in the fieldspecific to Hologic’s product portfolio and disease state focus on women’s health, oncology, virology and perinatal medicine

  • Monitor, support and internally communicate key policy trends in all payer markets to the Health Policy, Reimbursement, Payer and Outcomes Research Teams

  • Conduct market research and advisory board programs among payers/employers to support messaging and strategy development

  • Develop and maintain key field tools such as CPT coding guides, Reimbursement Tool Kits and other field collateral used in provider and payer channel messaging of coverage, coding and reimbursement

  • Work with the HEOR team to support clinical and reimbursement dossiers and evidence-based publications for the US payer market

  • Attend key annual clinical meetings to provide payer support to Hologic’s marketing teams

  • Develop strategy and implementation tactics for the successful inclusion of products into nationally-recognized clinical treatment guidelines

  • Attend trade association meetings and payer-related symposia to drive Hologic policy initiatives, company brand and product messaging within this segment

The successful candidate will have a substantial track record ofeffectively developing and executing strategies within the complex markets.An expert in policy, the incumbent will proactively impact health policy developments, coding changes, market access and appropriate reimbursement. Experience with medical devices is a very strong advantage. The candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of experience working in health care or related technical industries. Preferred experience working internally among cross functional teams.

Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Proven analytical skills preferably with scientific papers and market intelligence

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with senior management, external field teams and payer segments in an articulate and composed demeanor and manage multiple, simultaneous, complex tasks to meet challenging deadlines

  • Analyze trends in reimbursement, policy coverage and key topics of importance for business units and proactively communicate relevant issues with impact to business

  • Ability to work cross-functionally to develop tools that will assist in educatingMedical Directors and other stakeholders on key initiatives that can help drive business (HEDIS grades for Payers, ACO/CAC criteria, increased lab testing of STI’s, etc.)

  • Skilled at designing Power Point presentations for internal health policy, reimbursement, and marketing departments

  • Establish key contacts within the national policy and payer community that also includes medical directors, government officials and other key influencers

  • Provide education and consultation to Health Economics Managed Care department on reimbursement trends and issues with national payers including recommendations for action

  • Ability to lead critical projects independently with cross functional team input

  • Successful time management and prioritization skills

Administrative/Supportive Tasks :

  • Proficiency in Power Point, Word, Excel is critical

  • Managing multiple deadlines and budget spend essential

  • Executive level verbal and written communication skills required

  • Manage travel calendars, meeting minutes and distribution for follow up communication

  • Meeting and Event Planning Skills helpful

  • Travel requirements: 50% Travel

Education :

Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degrees includingMPH, JD or MBA are preferred
