Job Summary

This position is responsible for helping drive a culture of Lean transformation throughout the Operations group. They will play a key role in successfully achieving strategic goals and continuous improvement through the establishment of our Operations Group “Operating System” (GCD-OS) and the thoughtful implementation of LEAN concepts / tools. They will work with a small group of Lean transformation experts to design, implement, improve and control our lean transformation including: Support, train, mentor and coach all employees, engineers, and leaders on GCD-OS Operating System principles, processes, and tools as defined in the Standard Implementation Framework. Provide LEAN/Six Sigma tools and processes to the Operations Group and leaders. Engage with the business to ensure continued execution and sustainability of GCD-OS. Work across functions to progress the organization through differing gate reviews and ensure alignment with business objectives and goals.Scope of responsibility may change to include other production areas as needed. He or she is expected to drive employee engagement, safety, quality, productivity and continuous improvement with department personnel to meet or exceed KPIs and business goals. He or she will be responsible for a wide variety of tasks such as tracking metrics, driving improvements, employee development, and strategic goal setting.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The incumbent may be asked to perform other function-related activities in addition to the below mentioned responsibilities as reasonably required by business needs.

  • Help drive a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement throughout Operations.

  • Lead the implementation of the GCD-OS Operating System at the site, and all its relevant elements within the Standard Implementation Framework (SIF) including coaching/training at all levels in the organization.

  • Lead operations excellence and best practice sharing.

  • Lead benchmarking efforts and coordinate inter-site sharing with other sites.

  • Lead development of 'Best-In-Class' manufacturing operations practices and creating a common goal for success between operation groups.

  • Lead multi-functional project teams that address tactical and strategic needs across Operations.

  • Drive projects to improve supply chain efficiency and impact Budget Plan.

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent (Masters Preferred) in Engineering or Science related discipline.

Experience:

  • Min 5 years of experience in Continuous Improvement initiatives (6 Sigma, Lean, Toyota Production System or equivalent)

  • Experience implementing and developing lean management systems as an Operating System

  • Instructional and coaching experience on problem solving and statistical analysis

  • Significant experience in Value Stream Mapping, kaizen event facilitation and lean management systems

  • Experience on continuous improvement of the processes for quality tools such as MSA, SPC and statistical analysis

  • Supervisor of teams and experience driving cross functional projects

  • Six Sigma Green Belt certified (Black Belt Preferred)

  • Lean Expert certification or equivalent experience
