Summary

The Accounting Manager is responsible for the management of the corporate accounting team and full scope accountability for month and year end close processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations in accordance with GAAP. In addition, the Accounting Manager is responsible for preparation of various financial analyses and schedules to support internal and external reporting requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for key areas of the monthly, quarterly and year-end accounting close, including preparation of general ledger account reconciliations and journal entries in accordance with GAAP

  • Responsible for the corporate allocation process using Oracle

  • Responsible for the weekly and month-end closes of Oracle Subledgers for US and Canadian entities

  • Responsible for the quarter-end and year-end audit schedules and provide support during quarterly external reviews and annual audits

  • Review schedules to support external reporting

  • Participate in cross-functional project teams to support system implementations, upgrades, process improvement initiatives or acquisitions, as required

  • Identify and initiate process and internal controls improvements within the accounting group

  • Assist in development of policies, as needed

  • Maintain updated internal control documentation to support SOX

  • Other duties, as assigned.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance

Experience

  • 8+ years’ experience with general accounting and managing teams

  • Manufacturing industry experience beneficial, but not required

  • Solid understanding of GAAP

  • Proficient in Excel

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to complete multiple priorities within tight deadlines

  • Ability to interface with all levels of management

  • Experience with Oracle preferred
