Surgical Sales Specialist - UK East

SUMMARY:

To promote the company’s surgical products to meet sales objectives and goals in an ethical manner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Conduct sales calls, build rapport and make presentations to surgeons, physicians, nursing staff, hospital administration, supply chain, payers, health care providers and other necessary to achieve sales objectives

Sales Planning: Plan and execute a tactical Sales Plan

Achieve sales forecast objectives for all products, to include capital equipment and related disposables.

Provide surgical procedure and technical product support in surgery as well as ongoing customer service in accordance with company policy.

Support the development of in-field training programs for regional centres of excellence and develop a close working relationship with the course director and facility.

Plan and conduct educational programs at regional institutions for customer training.

Submit timely purchase orders, sales planning and expense reports.

Report customer product inquiries and service requests.

Maintain up-to-date computerized account information, hospital lists, and customer files

Establish and control territory operating budget.

Provide feedback on product performance, competition, products, marketing practices and customer satisfaction.

Submit reports regarding operation of the territory, product acceptance, and specifications, or competitive activity

Attend all corporate training, sales meetings, conference and exhibitions and in-field development courses.

Adhere to all corporate policies, procedures, instructions and directives to achieve objectives and maximize profitability.

TECHNICAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES

Proven success in selling surgical products to consultant surgeons and theatre personnel Working within an operating theatre environment with a demonstrated ability to work with surgeons

The ability to successfully develop relationships with key decision makers within a market based on a new product technology and surgical procedures

Experience in developing and establishing professional education training courses for surgeons and nursing staff

Excellent interpersonal, problem solving, organizational, communication and leadership skills

Flexibility, self-motivation and team orientated; good judgement, a strong work ethic and personal integrity based on a high value system

Expertise in MS Office: Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and familiarity with other business software.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• BA/BS Arts/Science or a nursing qualification.

INITIAL TRAINING NEEDS:

• Complete induction training.

• Complete the Product Sales Training program.

• Become familiar with the company’s current product line in order to sell effectively and proactively.

• Observe procedures as per client site and Hologic site regulations.

The position requires traveling to regional accounts as well as Conferences and exhibitions which will necessitate overnight stays.
