As a Production Planner, you will provide planning to the production department. This is a critical role in order to meet customer requirements and to optimise production through efficient planning & scheduling. You will work closely with the Production Team, Purchasing Team, Process Transfer Team, Quality Assurance Team and Customer Service in order to deliver our products to stock.

In this role, your main responsibilities will be:

Execution

  • Responsible for providing the plant with a monthly production plan consistentwith the plant capacity and sales forecasts. Determining the desired inventorylevels from finished goods down to the raw material including buffer safetystock and customer safety stock levels.

  • Responsible for contributing to the master production plan tosatisfy customer demand while carrying minimum effective inventory.

  • Working closely with the Production Team, Purchasing Team, ProcessTransfer Team, Quality Assurance Team and Customer Service in order to deliverour products to stock.

Leading & Relationship Management

  • Demonstratingexcellent leadership skills, enabling cross functional teams to deliver siteservice levels and KPI achievement.

  • Providingsubject matter knowledge transfer of the Production Planning process tointernal suppliers/customers.

Other:

  • Analyse sales forecasts/salesperformance and work with Planning Manager to manage impact to service levelsand inventory

  • Establish and communicateProduction & QC priorities

  • Generate productionschedules & raw material requirements

  • Release production workorders to Manufacturing

  • Maintain the integrity ofthe MRP system

  • Maintain work centreschedules to ensure proper job scheduling and capacity limitations areunderstood and communicated when necessary

  • Maintain inventory toassigned levels

  • Ensure that internaldepartments are kept abreast of work order status, inventory levels &projects

  • Communicate delivery anddistribution issues with Customer Service for all assigned shippable materials

  • Monitorand coordinate efforts to minimise, development inventory and scrap levels inaccordance with corporate budgeted guidelines

  • Assistwith Internal Demand material needs as necessary

  • Participate in thetransfer of new products from R&D to Mfg

  • Developplanning processes to best optimise MRP planning systems

  • Provide guidance andtraining to lower level Production Planners

  • Assist Planning Managerwith 3 rd Party supply chain activities and processes

  • Act as a lead and handlesproduction control issues or concerns within the department

  • Ensure compliance withapplicable regulations & policies

  • Advanced knowledge of computerized Purchasing & Inventory Management systems

  • Working knowledge of material master maintenance, BOMs, routings/recipes, work centres and labour reporting

  • Working knowledge of Demand Planning and forecasting

  • Knowledge of cost accounting fundamentals and labour reporting

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office or equivalent software
