Summaryof Duties and Responsibilities

You will be part of an enthusiastic, dynamic, results-oriented team of mechanical, electrical, and software development engineers, scientists, and program managers working to define and develop Hologic’s best-in-class Skeletal and Interventional products. The ideal candidate is one who understands the mechanics and material selections and how they interact to fulfill product requirements.

  • Create,interpret, and manage product requirements and design specifications

  • Selectmaterials and processes for developing a product that meets the productrequirements and design specifications.

  • Proposeplans for development, testing, and review

  • Proposealternative concepts to meet product definitions and evaluate them based on risk,product cost, performance, safety, and reliability considerations

  • Createand manage traceability among design requirements documents

  • Createanalytic tools and simulations to model product performance

  • Participatein design reviews and ensure component designs work together to fulfill productrequirements

  • Providetechnical direction in the selection of mechanical and polymer materials for theengineering team

  • Ensurethat design implementation, test, and maintenance methods and processes aredeveloped and executed in a manner that supports quality standards

Qualifications

  • Abilityto understand interactions among components in a complex system and how theyaffect the overall product performance

  • Abilityto understand the capabilities and limitations of polymer materials andmechanical design to obtain optimum results

  • Abilityto transform physical and mathematical concepts into sound engineering designs

  • Excellentanalytical and verbal and written communication skills

  • Proficientwith physical and mathematical modeling tools

  • Familiarwith US and international standards for medical devices

Education

  • Bachelor’sdegree in Mechanical Engineering

  • Tenyears of experience in engineering related to medical devices or otherregulated field
